Belly Bugs '30 Fruit & Veg' A2 Wall Chart
Belly Bugs '30 Fruit & Veg' A2 Wall Chart
Couldn't load pickup availability
Children use this fun wall chart to decide which fruit and vegetables to feed to their Belly Bugs. With 30 to choose from, children can create 'story meals' based on what they believe their Belly Bugs need to look after them.
This puts your child in control. Expect them to be telling you what healthy food is on the menu, rather than vice versa.
If they fancy a Bellycopter in their Rumbledom, that means pineapple and banana for dessert!

This is a lovely clear chart. I wish it was laminated or protected, and perhaps came with removable stickers to track what children ate each week. I've put clear plastic over mine and use whiteboard pens so we can celebrate eating more each week. There's not much of a link to the story and the fruit and veg examples are quite random. Why spring onions but no onion? Why are those fruit and veg linked to that specific bug? I thought the story might show what they do e.g. these types of fruit have this vitamin in, which is good for skin. But the paper and print are high quality and it is as advertised, a large version of the chart in the book
Hi Kate. Many thanks for your positive review and your suggestions for improvements. We looked at having the chart laminated but the cost was prohibitive. Wipe-clean was astronomical! It's great that you have found a solution. We hoped that people might use markers but we included free gold stars as an option. As regards which fruit & veg to feature, we chose those that lent themselves most readily to 'tools' or 'raw materials' that the Belly Bugs could use for their jobs in Rumbledom. If they are less common, all the better as that encourages children to try new things. Cooly Bug, who is the most creative in the gang and runs the 'Arty Farty Studio', uses spring onions as paint brushes. I appreciate that the accompanying book can't cover every aspect of each Belly Bug's character. However there is a link on the inside cover to our website where there are full profiles of all of the Belly Bugs, Baddies, Rumbledom buildings and vehicles. We also hope that children use the chart as a 'story starter' and select their own mix of items and invent their own stories. We have new books and computer games planned and will certainly cover the important nutritional info that you suggest as we grow. Many thanks again. We're so pleased that the chart is helping your children add more fruit and vegetables to their diet.
